Lviv. Church of St. Paraskeva-Pyatnytsya

The temple was built in the oldest part of the city, on the foundations of the church of the XIII-XIV centuries. The location of the object outside the city fortifications explains the presence in its architecture of the features of the defensive building. Construction dates from 1643-1645; reconstruction - in 1908 (restoration, new completion of the tower, architect M.Luzhetsky). In the architecture of the church, elements of late Gothic style are combined with the traditions of Ukrainian and Moldavian-Volos temple construction.

Later additions are associated with the influences of historicist architecture (tower dome). The iconostasis of the Pyatnytska Church dated to the first half of the XVII century, has an exceptional value and was restored in the 1980s.

Xрам споруджено у найдавнішій частині міста, на фундаментах церкви ХІІІ-XIV ст. Розташування об’єкту за межами міських фортифікацій пояснює присутність в його архітектурі рис оборонної будівлі. Будівництво датують 1643-1645 рр.; реконструкцію 1908 р. (реставрація, нове завершення вежі, архітектор М. Лужецький). В архітектурі церкви поєднано елементи пізньої готики з традиціями українського та молдавсько-волоського храмового будівництва. Пізніші додатки пов`язуються з впливами архітектури історизму (баня вежі). Виняткову вартість має іконостас П`ятницької церкви, датований першою половиною XVII ст. і реставрований у 1980-х рр.
