Lviv. Church of the Ascension of the Lord on Znesinnia (“The Salonny”)

The Church of the Ascension of the Lord is a Greek Catholic Church situated in the old Znesinnia area of Lviv. It was built in the early twentieth century on the site of an older wooden church which stood there from the beginning of XVII century. 

The temple of the church, which rises majestically on a hill above the railway line, surprises with its architecture intertwined in neo-Gothic and Neo-Romanesque style with romanticism. This unique form was attributed to the temple by architect Vladislav Galitsky (1897-1901) who was the native of Volyn. In the interior of the temple there are paintings and carvings of A. Coverk made in neo-Ukrainian style. 

The brick was used as the material for construction, which was treated on the outside with rough sandstone and was mined nearby. The temple has fully preserved exterior and interior design since the beginning of the twentieth century.

Львів. Церква Вознесіння Господнього на Знесінні

Церква Вознесіння Господнього — греко-католицький храм у Львові, у місцевості Старе Знесіння. Збудований на початку ХХ ст. на місці давнішого дерев'яного, що походив із початку XVII ст.

Храм, що велично здіймається на пагорбі над залізничним полотном,  дивує  своєю архітектурою, в якій сплелися неоготика та неороманський стиль з романтизмом. Таку унікальну форму надав храму у своєму проєкті уродженець Волині архітектор Владислав Галицький (1897-1901).  В інтер'єрі храму зберігаються розписи та різьба А. Коверка в неоукраїнському стилі.  

Матеріалом для будівництва послужила цегла, зовні обмурована грубо обробленим пісковиком, що добувався поблизу. Храм повністю зберіг свій вистрій та оформлення інтер’єру з початку ХХ ст.
